Studies On The Degree Adverbs In Newanecdotes Of The Tang Dynasty

Tang Dynasty, as the beginning of modern Chinese, is an important part of Chinese history. New Anecdotes of The Tang Dynasty is a note novel of the middle of the Tang Dynast, which has wide context, strong colloquial characters, especially the high frequency degree adverbs, and is of important value of studying the language of the Tang Dynasty. This paper put New Anecdotes of The Tang Dynasty as the corpus, use qualitative and quantitative combined method, and exhaustively analyse the usage of the degree adverbs in the bookcarefully.This paper is divided into five main parts:The first part is introduction.In this part, we introduce the author of New Anecdotes of The Tang Dynasty, context and edition, and point out the general situation of the study, significance and method.The second part is the definition and classification of the degree adverbs. Adverbs of degree is recognized by grammar academic circle, and judgment standard is basically same. But the division of the second class about degree adverbs often don’t see eye to eye. This paper based on the degree of order of magnitude to invide degree adverbs.The third part is mainly to comprehensively describe the adverbs of degree in New Anecdotes of The Tang Dynasty. Firstly, according to the research achievements of the predecessors, this article divided the degree adverbs into five categories accordind to the order of magnitude:the extreme degree, the very degree, the more degree, the close degree, and micro degree.And analyse exhaustively the source and examples of each degree adverb.The fourth part is mainly to analyse the adverbs of degree in New Anecdotes of The Tang Dynasty. Through the list to analyse the use frequency of degree adverbs, Syllable feature, its grammatical functions, and discuss about the degree adverbs in the post. It is the most common phenomenon for two adverbs, which has negative adverbs, modal adverbs, similar adverbs and time adverbs.The fifth part is synchronic comparison and diachronic comparison. In synchronic comparison we selected ancient and medieval ancient Chinese, so as to find out in the development of the adverbs of degree in New Anecdotes of The Tang Dynasty. In diachronic comparison, we selected Tang yulin, which reflected the language features in Tang five dynasties as the objects, then found out the similarities and differences about degree adverbs with New Anecdotes of The Tang Dynasty.The final part is conclusion, this paper summarized the research situation about New Anecdotes of The Tang Dynasty.
