A Report On The E-C Translation Of Consolidated Financial Statements Of The Nestle Group 2014

This report is based on the translation of Consolidated Financial Statements of the Nestle Group, which aims to describe the translation process and presented related translation methods. The material is a financial report of the Nestle Group Company announced at the end of 2014, which summarized the company’s annual financial work. As the English language applied in a special field. Financial English is formal and accurate. According to this, the translation is based on Peter Newmark’s semantic translation theory, and literal translation is preferred to free translation.This report firstly introduces how the author chooses the translating materials and confirms the translation goal. Then a lot of preparations are showed in this report, including learning financial knowledge, analyzing the language characteristics of the source text, and consulting relevant texts. After that, the author summarizes and analyzes the key points and difficult points which encountered in the process of translation. To solve these problems, the author uses some relevant translating methods. The last part summarizes the gains and limitations of the translation, and makes some suggestions for future translation.
