The Research Of The Development And Inheritance Of Southern Hunan Yao Embroidery Craft

Yao embroidery is a technique that Yao women using needle to embroider on fabric with silk, wool etc, embroidered with a pattern, text,and other decorative effect. Influenced by Southern Hunan native culture,this craft derived several stitches such as flat embroidery, playing seed embroidery on the base of cross-stitch, presenting a gorgeous while simple, meticulous while meticulous regional style. It has both practical and aesthetic functions, as an important means of decoration which is widely used on the headscarf, clothing, backpacks, to become an important feature to distinguish two branches- Guo Shan Yao and Ping Di Yao. But with the development of the mechanical technology and the decline of the traditional arts and crafts, it becomes almost nobody cares about the embroidery which used to closely relate to Yao people’s production and life, the outlook of embroidery is not optimistic.Therefore, this paper starts from the perspective of Southern Hunan Yao embroidery craft and inheritance, using fieldwork materials, books and documents, comprehensive analysis etc, to explore the revival of Yao embroidery from three aspects: first of all, to sort and integrate its historical background, production technology, cultural connotation,analyze its constraints. Second, discuss and summarize the mature Yao embroidery inheritance pattern of Liannan,Guang Dong Province and Hezhou,Guang Xi Province. Finally, take the culture creativity industry as the breakthrough point,to comprehensively evaluate the culture, artistic and economic value of Yao embroidery, to provide objective basis for the feasibility and necessity of Yao embroidery to integrate into modern life.Southern Hunan Yao embroidery is the memory of culture, and the carrier of cultural inheritance, also,it is a one of the national intangible cultural heritage. Nowadays, with the development of economy, we should use the vision of scientific development to interpret it upgrade Yao embroidery cultural industry by integrating and optimizing this resource,establish the Yao embroidery strategies to expand its development space,which will retain the value of the traditional culture, also can build local cultural brand, then, we will find the point between equilibrium national tradition and modern industry, to realize the social value.
