Chinese calligraphy is one of the main parts of Chinese characters art and one of the most concise materialization of the Chinese culture and ideology. It is also the cultural heritage of the humanity history and the manifestation of the oriental art spirit. Chen Zheqin, who was born in the early years of the Republic of China, inherited from the heritage of his family, and learned the calligraphy from a good teacher in his childhood and studied hard for it. His rough life experience cultivated him and the thought" Improving character and reading more firstly before learning and making brush calligraphy" achieved his art style and promoted him as the representative in the field of official script in the contemporary era.This thesis studies the forming reasons of Chen Zeqin’s calligraphy art achievements and the formation of his calligraphy thoughts from the perspective of Marxist aesthetics and the traditional calligraphy aesthetics. It analyses the formation process of Chen Zeqin’s regular script, cursive, official script, seal cutting and the deep-seated factors of his artistic style’s formation through his strokes, structure, composition and other aspects. Firstly, it analyses the reason of Chen Zeqin’s beginning to learn and make calligraphy, which is that he inherited from the heritage of his family. Secondly, it explores the commons of art judgments from the theories between China and western countries by concluding his thoughts on calligraphy, which combines the traditional aesthetics thoughts with Marxist aesthetics thoughts to make a deeper elaboration. Finally, it summarizes the practical significances of the Chen Zeqin’s calligraphy aesthetics thoughts by analyzing and researching.
