As is known to all, teaching chinese as a second language is a complex teaching system. In addition to the surface of language teaching, but also a deeper level of culture and intercultural communication teaching. Now, The old sayings still Related closely with our daily life. In some newspapers and an important speech and in daily life often quoted the words to express points. The Chinese level in senior students are interested and afraid on the old sayings. So the research on the old sayings teaching is necessary.In addition, along with the development of teaching chinese as a second, in addition to the classroom teaching of one to one is also booming. More and more people come to China to learn Chinese.The old sayings are from the quotations, poetry and idioms, and those often imply a abundant Chinese culture, and alse have an important influence for chinese teaching.By the old sayings,they can understanding the way of thinking, behavior about Chinese,which in turn promote the learning of Chinese.This Article discusses the topic of "what to teach, how to teach". To explore a new way of teaching the old sayings. This paper mainly consists of four parts.The first part is a summary of a pair of teaching, explain the definition of one to one teaching, the different between one to one teaching and class teaching, one to one teaching characteristics, status and advantages.The second part is to explore the significance of the old sayings in teaching Chinese as a second language, from the necessity and significance of archaic words teaching about the senior students.The third part is mainly on "what to teach" suggested that the teaching content are classified according to the form and the subject matter of archaic words, through classified to reflect the features.The fourth part is to analyze the "how to teach", different situations give different teaching methods, and strive to use the most suitable teaching method to help students learn effectively. For the folk theme, I use the experiential teaching method; and the historical allusion related idioms, gives the story telling method. Still take some methods of talking,association reading.
