Color plays extremely crucial role in packaging design.Good color application can makes the person have a better understanding to the product package, and create a kind of clear or striking effect at ideal visual condition. The ultimate goal of color design in product packaging design is information dissemination through expressiont of it color, and thus to attract consumers’ attention. Taking advantage of bright color enable the person produces rich imagination and trigger so strong emotional activities that to stimulate consumers’ purchasing appetite.Therefore, it is meaningful color design that the process of color design should conforn to the basis of color theory and combine with a range of actual situation including local market, commodity, and consmers, whcih is helpful to reach a ideal effect that convey information. This article mainly elaborates color usage in the product identification that color express product’s features, which leaves consumer can imagine to commodity and makes precise judgement according to information what color conveys..In addition, the color also can realize the recognition of serialization in products. Studying information what color transmit and master the method of color usage through the relevant theoretical research and analysis the usage of current mainstream cosmetics brand in color design to complete the academic research as well as design practice.Design practice is based on the brand “keewee” to carry out a series of design, this brand contrapose children. There are several steps in whole design process, including VI design, packaging design, poster design and publicity page design. In packaging design, I create a series of virtual cartoon characters by flattening style, such as animals, plants and characters and so forth. They look like so lovely and have distinctive features with air of bright color. Series packaging enable consumers to arise dense interest to brand by using the rich color and vivid image. Using cartoon and color design to make consumers shape a kind of ability about cognitive and identification. Product packaging win most consumers’ applause with it features of cute and unique.
