A Study On The Moral Anomy In Modern China

With the rapid development of China society and the transformation of social relationship model, people’s value orientation and conduct have changed greatly. As a result, the problem of moral anomy rises to an obvious height.During the social transformation, the moral anomy rising in modern China not only poses a severe challenge to the functional adjustment of the original moral norms, but also constrains, to a large extent, the new ones from being established timely. In this circumstance, moral anomy is supposed to be highly concerned and valued by the whole society. People should analyze the causes of the problem of moral anomy coming into being; people should strengthen the construction of moral norms; people should promote a successful settlement of the problem.This paper consists of three parts:In the first part, the concept of moral anomy is defined and the connotation of morality and moral anomy are clarified. Combined with Duke Kim’s theory of moral anomy, which lays an effective theoretical foundation for further researches, the problem is surveyed.In the second part, the specific manifestations of moral anomy in modern China is classified into three particular types, namely, the public security problem, the vulnerability of the interpersonal relationship and the deficiency of the sense of morality among the youngsters. They are respectively exemplified on public level and personal level.In the third part, core of this essay, is discussed and analyzed in details around these moral anomy mentioned above. and finally a few creative thoughts about the causes of their formation: multi-culture impact,dilemma during the period of economic transformation, ignorance of the content of excellent traditional morality and weakening of moral teaching are concluded.As for the causes, the last part was mentioned around some corresponding solution strategies. For example, the way of how to smoothly fuse morality with multi-culture, establish a robust socialism moral theory values, deepen the social spirit civilization construction, Improve the accord between socialism market and moral culture, carry forward our excellent traditional culture, carry on traditional moral ideas better, make moral teaching more effectively and make every effort to legal system and coordination effect, to form a good social moral standard.In the view of the limited sources of data, this paper has its limitation to some degree. The conclusion may not be able to perfectly reflect the real situation in the whole society, not able to comply with every region. In addition, affected by the personal knowledge level, this paper is still deficient in the comprehensive research and analysis to the moral anomy of modern society. Further exploration and completion are expected.
