Huawei Translation Model Explained:an ECO-translatology Perspective

With the rapid economic growth in China, the globalization of Chinese high-tech enterprises is accelerating, which creates greater demand on language services. Language service providers need highly competent translators. In 2007, the Ministry of Education(MOE) established the Master of Translation and Interpreting(MTI) in order to train qualified personnel to address the ever-growing needs. Researches on MTI education are increasing these years.This thesis illustrates the Huawei translation model and analyzes it from the perspective of Eco-Translatology. Aiming at adapting the translation model in MTI education, this thesis analyzes this model from the perspective of translational management ecosystem, translational market ecosystem, translational education ecosystem, and the ecosystem of translation itself. Based on the translation competence required by the modern language industry, this thesis points out that the Huawei translation model can be adopted for the MTI education.
