A Practice Report On The Long Sentences Reorganization In Chinese Translation Of Finacial And Managerial Accounting

The material of this practice report is Financial and Managerial Accounting, which is an American original accounting textbook. As a kind of business language, accounting plays an important role in the trends of Economic internationalization. Therefore,introducing the foreign accounting system to China is very important. Unfortunately,people always study on the translation strategies for specialized vocabulary before,while ignoring the translation strategies for sentences.This translation practice focuses on exploring the translation strategies for sentences in the original accounting texts. There are a lot of long and complicated sentences in the accounting textbooks, most of which are object clauses, attributive clauses and adverbial clauses. Because the differences between the Western and Chinese in the way of thinking and expression, some adjustments need to be made for long and complicated sentences in translation.This practice report discussed effective strategies of translation skills for original accounting texts through the application of sequencing method,inversion method and synthetic method, which are the basic methods of alternative approach of long sentences.Hoping this practice report will provide some references for such texts’ translation.
