The Confucius institute at the university of Antananarivo in Madagascar has enjoyed seven years of development history since its opening ceremony at the university of antananarivo on November 13, 2008. As an important link between China and Madagascar, the Confucius institute of Madagascar communicates the politics, economy, culture, education and so on between the two countries, so as to win high praises in Madagascar from all walks of life. The development of Confucius institute in Madagascar in recent years has been witnessed by everyone and the motivation of Chinese learners’ participating in Chinese level tests has been higher and higher. Confucius institute in Madagascar held two different Chinese level tests for the first time, one being HSK in 2010 and the other being YCT in 2012. In the HSK test held at the university of Antananarivo, which is organized by the national Hanban for the first time, more than 100 examinees took part in it. By the year of 2014, the number of students taking HSK and YCT has amounted to 2127.Chinese level test is an important part of the healthy and continous development of Confucius institute. In recent years, with the development of Confucius institute, Chinese level tests develop in larger scale. The aim of prompting teaching by means of examination and to assit examination by virtue of teaching has been achieved basically. However, some problems are also detected in the course of its promotion. Based on the research of current situation of Chinese level test and combined with a questionnaire of difficulty of prompting Chinese in Madagascar, the thesis discovers existing problems during Chinese level test promption process. Finally, it explores strategies of Chinese level test promption in Madagascar, hoping to make contributions to enterprises of Chinese teaching in Madagascar.The thesis is composed of five parts:The first part is introduction, analysing research background, significance and findings of previous sttudies and delimiting research contents and methods of the paper.The second part conducts rearches on the current situation of Chinese level test in Madagascar, including a brief introduction of Chinese level test, the situation of Chinese level test in Madagascar and lastly, analysis and comparison of Chinese level test of Madagascar.The third part is a survey of promption of Chinese level test in Madagascar. It is mainly unfolded by analysing problemes existing in promption of Chinese level test in Madagascar by 50 questionnaris emitted to Chinese vonlunteer teachers.The fourth part reflects on and explores promption strategies of Chinese level tests in Madagascar. It also put forward suggestions for it from two aspects of Confucius institute and teachers.The last part is conclusion which contains the authors’ reflection on shortcomings of the thesis.
