Research On The Development Of Confucius Institute

With the implementation of the Confucius Institute Development Plan from 2012 to2020,the Confucius Institute has a clear development goal and has obtained new development opportunities.the Confucius Institute Annual Development Report focuses on the development achievements of Confucius Institutes since its establishment in2004,and showcases the gratifying changes in the development of Confucius Institutes.While seeing the achievements of the Confucius Institute,we cannot avoid the problems and difficulties it encountered.This thesis conducts a systematic analysis of the Confucius Institute Annual Development Report from 2013 to 2018,uses real and credible data to show the development trends of Confucius Institutes,tries to make up for the deficiencies of existing research on the development of Confucius Institutes,and gives reference opinions on Chinese teaching and cultural communication.The thesis is composed of five parts: the Introduction includes the reason,purpose and significance of the topic,and briefly summarizes the research methodology and literature review.The second chapter is about the analysis of the Confucius Institute Annual Development Report from 2013 to 2018.The report includes Confucius Institutes,teachers and volunteers,Development and Promotion of Teaching Materials,Confucius China Studies Program,Branded Projects,Chinese tests and scholarships.The contents are objectively described and sorted out.and the reasons that affect the development of Confucius Institutes are analyzed,including the Belt and Road initiative gradually gaining popularity,economic influence becoming increasingly prominent,and culture is the “ballast stone” of development.The third chapter is the achievements of the development of Confucius Institutes,which mainly include three aspects: a globalized and diversified international Chinese education community,a high-quality and high-level Chinese cultural communication platform,and a new pattern of comprehensive and wide-ranging Sino-foreign exchanges.The fourth chapter is about the problems and countermeasures facing the development of Confucius Institutes.It summarizes the four problems,unbalanced regional development,unreasonable allocation of teaching materials resources,emergency response capabilities for public emergencies need to be improved,and the cohesion of operation and management needs to be enhanced.It also discusses the development strategies of Confucius Institutes in the context of new management and globalization.The conclusion reviews and summarizes the main content of this thesis,gives some prospects and points out the deficiencies of this research.
