Based on two documentaries named The Medicine of the Middle Kingdom and Psychology: Charting the Human Mind, this practice report describes one task conducted by the author during the internship. The task is aimed at the major of Chinese medicine and senior nursing who need to improve their listening skills and have a better understanding of foreign medical conditions.The first part is preface that introduces current situation of the medical English and the classification of interpreting. To pave the way for the following parts, it also describes the frame of this interpreting report and the reason for author to choose this interpreting task.In the second part, the author briefly introduces the source, content and significance of the task. As the beginning of the main content of this whole report, this part describes the specific circumstance and the final result of this task.The third part describes the preparation before the interpreting, the first draft, the revised version and the final version. The preparation part which includes professional knowledge preparation and translation theory preparation is described at great length to illustrate that full preparation would play an important role in consecutive interpretation.As the key part of this report, the forth part discusses representative translations under the interpretive theory, including the translation of Medical English, utilization of interpreting principals and typical mistakes in the interpreting process. The translation of the medical English terms and the medical English sentences will be introduced first in the translation of medical English part. The utilization of interpreting principals includes the principle of information restructuring and the principle of simplicity. At last the representative mistakes in the interpreting process will be selected and correct.In the fifth part, the author makes a summary including the cultivation of professional knowledge and the importance of theoretical guidance.In the last part, the author summarizes what a qualified interpreter should have in the conclusion. At the same time, by summing up the experience in this practice, the author hopes to provide specific reference for the later interpretation tasks and other interpreters, and provides a higher level translations in the future.
