| Autism, also called autistic disorder, is a typical disease of pervasive developmental disorder. In recent years, the morbidity rate of autism has grown rapidly throughout the world. With the establishment of “World Autism Awareness Dayâ€, people in the society pay more attention to the disease. This practice report is exactly based on the consecutive interpreting practice about the behavioral observation and analysis that American applied behavioral analysts did to the autistic children of Qianqian?ai Special Education Training Center in Xi?An, Shanxi province.Apart from five-day liaison interpreting, the author did the full-course consecutive interpreting on the exchange meeting. Therefore, according to the part of audio-converted text of the consecutive interpreting, the various problems like misinterpreting and interpreting loss what were encountered in the interpreting process have been analyzed and summarized with the interpretative theory. Additionally, as to the problem phenomenon of “domino effectâ€, the related solution was presented in case analysis. The key parts of the report are chapter three and chapter four. Chapter three mainly involved early stage preparation, interpreting problems and interpreting assessment. Chapter four mainly described the analysis and solutions of different problem types what were encountered in the interpreting process.Through the interpreting practice, the author was not only familiar with the relevant knowledge about autism, but also accumulated abundant practical experience and had a more profound understanding of application of interpretative theory to interpreting process. Meanwhile, various problems and successful experience in the interpreting process were presented in this report, which will lay a solid foundation on the interpreting practice with similar theme in the future. |
