The new development of word represents the development of language, the change of language also reflects the progress of human social and cultural life. As in recent years, a large number of new words reflecting the social life appear, more and more teachers are pay attention to teaching methods. Teaching new words will not only help expand students ’vocabulary, but also for enhancing students’ understanding of Chinese culture.Based on previous research findings, the author explored modern Chinese teaching on new words. This article will examine the contents of a total of five chapters. The first chapter includes the purpose of the study, literature review, and research ideas and methods of the study. The second chapter begins with an overview of new words for emphasis, the definition of modern Chinese new words, new words and manner of causes, characteristics of modern Chinese new words. The third chapter as a focus on the content of the article, includes that foreign language teaching in the teaching part of the new words. The fourth chapter studies the new words in a foreign language teaching of new words selected criteria, the appropriate class type of teaching new words and new words in the process of teaching new words teaching arrangements. Chapter five as ending part, many new words teaching practice carried out some research and analysis, including the principles of teaching new words, methods and strategies of teaching new words, new words teaching simulation design lesson plans.
