This paper raises the Nabis by describing the social background the Nabis occurs, and detailedly introduced the representative figures of the Nabis Vuillard and Boehner, to fully interpret the color characteristics and painting style of the Nabis, finally discussed the influence the Nabis did to other school of painting. This paper firstly discussed the purpose and significance of researching the Nabis, stated the research status both at home and abroad, and introduced the main content and structure of the paper; Then straight into the theme, stated the social background the Nabis occur and the representatives in-depth, detailedly introduced the Nabis painting style and artistic characteristics of individuals; next summed up the color characteristics and painting style of the Nabis, and discussed the aesthetic cultivation of the Nabis; Finally by comparing the art style of the Nabis to impressionism, fauvism, and Chinese modern oil painting, showed the profound influence the Nabis did to the painting in the world.The Nabis has unique features on the picture form and language, very accord with the aesthetic idea of people today. This paper mainly illustrated the color and picture form and language of the Nabis, expounded its characteristics, and summarized the basic characteristics of the Nabis production and the personality traits of the Nabis painter. Through research we found that the Nabis is very accord with modern painting art style both in the adornment of color and the form of picture layout, the picture layout is wide but not big, and the color is real and not gorgeous. Therefore, study his color and picture form and language has a certain practical significance, can give a lot of help in our creation. But the description about the style of the Nabis and the depth introduction of his painting is rare, the research on it is not enough and thorough, it brought many inconvenience to our learning, and also caused a certain difficulty to the writing of this paper. Although there are a lot of difficulties, this can also happen to highlight the research value of this paper.
