This paper focuses on impact of the Nabis in the history of development of art. Start with the overview of the Nabis, it specially analysed the features of two most talented Nabis artists Bonnard and Vuillard and their artworks, discussed in details of the heritage of Nabis from predecessors and the influence on the later artists. It pointed out the Nabis' influence on contemporary Chinese arts while affirming its historical status.The first part is a brief introduction to the Nabis and the origin of the Nabis. Art of the Nabis mainly by high impact, high theory led to the symbolism of the more solemn, simplification and decorative style of deformation of, laying a foundation for the Nabis painting art.The second part analysed two artists Pierre Bonnard and Edouard Vuillard whom are the most important of Nabis group. They are both the best known French painters between later 19th century and beginning of 20th century. Bonnard's painting is not only a return to simple things on the screen, even more important is his rich in emotion and fun of life into painting depict realistic emotional picture. Vuillard on performance in the theme contents and painting techniques, are filled with the decorative taste and harmonious beauty. Vuillard and bonnard's painting style are quite similar, they had a goal in common is the goal of integrating art and daily life.The third part analysed three aesthetic characteristics of the Nabis art:flatness, decorative and subjective colour. Flatness is the absorption of the East Japan floating effect of painted art, drawing a graph of flat colour. Decorative deformation characteristics in the nature of the objective and subjective deformation, deformation of both rule and advocated by Nabis "external objective form" and "internal subjective States" consistent, revealed the two features in the early 20th century art "decoration and symbol". Bonnard is the representative of virtual subjective colour, he often use colour method to perform some very rich sensitive light colour changes, it will make the original object form presents hazy effect.The forth Part studied Nabis' effect on inheritance of Impressionist and modern art. Nabis merged their viewpoints and ideas of the art into Impressionist painting, therefore the Impressionist painting under the influence of the Nabis upgraded to a new level. Morden masters of arts Picasso, Matisse, Bulak all had certain influenced by NabisThe fifth part is the conclusion; it pointed out that the Nabis' influence on contemporary Chinese arts.
