Kafka is one of the most important western writers of the twentieth century, who is known as the ancestor of western modernist literature.Kafka is totally different from the traditional realism writers on the creation method. He neither pay attention to the authenticity of the story, nor to the rationality of the plot development, what he emphasizes is the inner truth which is shown by the fantastic story. So Kafka’s novel is not accessible to most people, which has always been referred to as the "labyrinth" novels.Narrative method of Kafka’s novel is discussed in this paper, that’s to say, we will argue what kind of the way Kafka use to build the "maze" of his novel. This article is written on the basis of careful reading of the text, its purpose is to depict the artistic features of Kafka’s novel through to expound to the concrete text. The main points of this article are as following:Kafka’s novels have special time and space characteristics. The time has obvious fracture and freeze characteristics, weakening the role to promote the development of the plot. In the form of changing location, that space promotes the development of the plot. The mixed transformation of space and time, keeping the expanding connotation of the novel, making readers focus their attention on the stories’ significance more than on the story itself. Because of this, The plot of Kafka’s novel has the characteristics of openness and compatibility, and through the reappearance, dialogue and places shifted to build up the inner link of each plot, showing different structure from traditional novel and modern novel appearance, being the watershed between them.Most of Kafka’s novels used restrictive perspective of and animal’s narrative perspective. Making readers go along with the protagonist to explore unknown mystery, closer to the reader’s engagement, and make absurdity actualized. Animal’s perspective of view makes the distance between the reader and the text, making the reader use human point of view to watch animals, so as to reflect on themselves. Protagonist in Kafka’s novels,usually be named letters, gender, identity, or blurred characters exist, which makes the character insignificant, and everybody becomes oppressors of the world. Meanwhile, the characters in Kafka’s novel also can translate to him, you and I, which forces us to think which we will choose and what we will do when facing the limited situation in reality. Female characters appear as helpers in the process of the action of the protagonist, and their presence means that the plot is going to turn to another viewpiont.
