A Report On The Translation Of Three Treasures

Three Treasures is a story of adventure, which relates how a young apothecary in Dorchester called Micah Judd traced the three missing treasures for three different families at the risk of losing his own life during the Civil War. This translation report is based on the translation of chapter five and chapter six of this English novel. This report mainly focuses on the relation between translation theory and translation practice. The translation report first gives a brief description of the translation project. Based on Peter Newmark’s text type theory and guiding translation theory, the report analyzes the difficulties and obstacles encountered during the process of translation, and how semantic translation and communicative translation are adopted to deal with the existing problems.
