With the increasing power and the enlarging influence of our country, the major of teaching chinese as a foreign language(TCFL) is developing better and better. The tendency that students become younger is very obvious. And these younger overseas students, an important part of TCFL, become a more unignorable group. As a neighbouring country of China, the South Korea is one of the most important countries which teach Chinese.In the period of my professional practice in Zhengzhou International School, I taught the students from South Korea with interest teaching in the primary stage of Chinese comprehensive course. And I hope to increase students’ interest of studying and teaching efficiency of Chinese class.This paper consisits of five parts. The first part states research background, research status, and research methods. The research target is also provided. In the second part, the author firstly made a comprehensive introduction to the interest teaching, including the connotation and the theoretical basis of interest teaching. Secondly the author discussed the application of intrest teaching in TCFL, including the signification of using interst teaching methods in TCFL, the modes of interest teaching which could be applied in TCFL, the requirements and principles in the process of using interst teaching methods. Finally, the author introduced interest teaching methods’ application in the teaching of chinese for South Korea. The third part is an introduction about the studying condition of the students in author’s intership school. It includes the analytic on school condition and students’ feature. The author summarizes the special meaning of interest teaching for younger overseas students from South Korea. In the forth part and also the last part, the author settles her practice process and analyzes the gain and loss in practice.The research methods of this article include:literature reading methods, survey methods, practical experience and observation methods.
