| A large Tribute Animal Center by the name of E-Puzrish-Dagan, "the office of Puziris-Dagan", which is now the Drehem site in Iraq, was built by the king Sulgi of Ur-III dynasty in the 39th year of his reign. It was one of the earliest and largest animal centers all through the ancient Mesopotamia, and played an immense role in the economy of Ur-III dynasty. The location of E-Puzrish-Dagan was very near to Nippur and Tummal, who ship centers of Enlil and Ninlil, King and Queen of deities, therefore was elected as the place of the Royal Animal Center, because it was convenient for manage the number of animals of the Tribute Animal Center grow increase with each passing day, it also would be convenient for the royal families and nobles to offer sacrifices to deities of Nippur and used for the diplomatic activity. Therefore, the Tribute Animal Center became a large animal center and the important financial sector of Ur-III Dynasty.The work in this paper is to reconstruct the documents of In-ta-e-a, the General Manager of the Trubute Animal Center. And at present, the numbers of texts, we have collected for In-ta-e-a is 673. This book is divided into two parts. There are five chapters in Part One, in which I’ll give the analysis of the work of In-ta-e-a and contrast to research of three General Managers; Part Two I reconstructed the archives of In-ta-e-a, the texts of the archives of In-ta-e-a are listed according to the chronological order, and presented in three languages:Sumerian transliterations, English translations and Chinese translations. We collated, organized, translated and researched these texts.In this paper, we have also analyzed In-ta-e-a’s economic activity. Through analysis on the texts of In-ta-e-a, we got the following conclusions:It was about eleven and a half years that In-ta-e-a was working in the Center from June 24th, Amar-Sin 9 to December 23rd, Ibi-Sin 2. We find that In-ta-e-a’s title is scribe (dub-sar), in his own seal. In-ta-e-a received (i-dab5) all the deliveries (mu-tum) from individuals to the Center and withdrawn (ba-zi/zi-ga) some of deliveries to the deities in Nippur and e-uz-ga of the Royal Dinnng Hall. He also transferred some oxen and flocks to other officials of the Center to manage. He manage many kinds of animals, including livestocks and wild animal, the lambs and gazelles numbers was increase in In-ta-e-a archives. In addition, the deliveries (mu-tum) was changed the delivery for the king (mu-tum~lugal) after Su-Sin 4.At the last General Manager at the Tribute Animal Center, he was active during eleven and a half years of the reign of Su-Sin and Ibbi-Sin which was from strong for into the decline age of the Ur-Ⅲ Dynasty and he also witnessed this period of the Center. From this archives, we get the original and direct materials for the reseach on the politics, ecnomy, culture and religion and diplomatic activities of the Ur Dynasty in order to construct the basic political system of the Ur-III Dynasty. |
