As the most important non-verbal communicative means, body language existed in people’s life prior to language. Body language not only witnesses the progress of mankind, but also contributes greatly to human evolution.The teaching of Chinese as a foreign language belongs to second language teaching, therefore, there is a great language communication barrier between the teachers and students. Similar to the beginning of Chinese as a foreign language to avoid conflicts caused by language barrier, so knowledge can be implanted to the students’ minds directly.There are a wide range of body language which is powerful. Therefore, it’s necessary to think about how to naturally, properly and briefly apply body language into the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, which is the purpose of this thesis. By observing and analyzing videos of the in-class teaching examples, summarizing the use condition of teachers’body language and discussing whether body language is properly applied in class, this thesis attempts to find the using skills and principles for teachers in the classes of the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.The thesis is made up of five parts. Chapter one contributes to the reason for and the significance of writing this thesis, research scope, research methodology and research results and present situation. Chapter two is related with definition as well as classification of body language. Chapter three concerns the recording, analysis and transcription of body language in videos of the teaching of Chinese as foreign language. Chapter four is devoted to the applied skills of concerning body language from the following aspects:the application of fingers, palms, arms, head, eye contact, distance and so on. Finally chapter five summarizes the findings of this thesis, presents the direction of further studies and points out the shortcomings of this thesis. |
