This study focused on the relationship among college students’ mobile phone addiction, personality traits and mental health, exploring the means and methods of the innovation of college students’mental health education under the new media environment, mental health education for colleges and universities workers provide new theoretical basis in the field of study.This study used four investigations, measuring tools:MPATS、NEO、 SCL-90.By clustering sampling from Hunan Normal university, we collected 900 college students in four colleges as subjects, to explore the basic situation of college students, using mobile phone media, the relationship between college students’mobile phone addiction and personality traits, the relationship between college students’ mobile phone addiction and mental health, personality traits in the role of cell phone addiction and mental health relations.And based on research, The article puts forward the use of mobile phone media to carry out the countermeasures of college students’ mental health education.the results show that:(1)College students’mobile phone addiction exists significant differences in gender(p<0.05),The girls’ mobile phone addiction is significantly higher than boys. Specific dimensions in aspects such as grade, professional, and students have significant differences. Highlight behavior, in professional(p<0.01) and grade(p<0.05), has significant differences, literature and history class students is higher than science engineering students, junior student above the seniors.Withdrawal symptoms has differences on the grade (p<0.01), lower grade students is higher than the seniors.There are significant differences in gender (p<0.05), students (p<0.05) and grade (p< 0.05) on Mood changes, and boys, scores is higher than girls,Rural students is higher than urban students; Junior students is higher than the seniors;College students’ mental health exists significant differences in grade (p< 0.05),Junior students’ psychological health level is lower than the higher grades; Forced symptoms, interpersonal sensitivity and hostile factor on major exist significant difference (p<0.05), engineering students are higher than literature and history students;(2)College students’ personality traits exists significant differences in gender and students on the ground,College students’ mobile phone addiction has significant negative correlation in personality score, the dimensions of adaptability, altruism and moral sense but openness dimension existed significant positive correlation. And personality traits of adaptability, moral sense, openness, personality scores have prediction effect on college students’ mobile phone addiction;(3) Mobile phone addiction and mental health level exists significant negative correlation. And the one that has forced, depression, anxiety, interpersonal problems of college students are more likely to have mobile phone addiction; (4)Personality plays a partial intermediary role in mobile college students’ phone addiction and mental health.Analysis and discussion show that:(1)College students’ mobile phone addiction exist significant differences in gender, College students’ Mental health exist significant differences in grade. (2)College students’ mobile phone addiction has significant differences in personality,some personality has prediction effect on college students’mobile phone addiction.(3)Mobile phone addiction and mental health level exists significant negative relationship,that is to say, the students who have low mental health level are more likely to have mobile phone addiction.(4)Personality plays a partial intermediary role in mobile college students’ phone addiction and mental health.
