The Blue Cliff Record, with the full name of The Blue Cliff Record of Buddha-hood Yuan Wu, which is also known as The Blue Cliff Set, is a quotation of Zen written by a famous Zen Master Yuan Wu Ke Qin in Chinese Song Dynasty. The Blue Cliff Record has total 10 folders and is scribed between 1125-1128 A.D (around end of Northern Song Dynasty and the beginning of Southern Song Dynasty). The content is based on the 100 Zen cases in Master Xue Dou Chong Xian’s Song Gu Bai Ze and is edited and collected by Ke Qin’s students under his direction and comments. Later the book becomes the guide texts for LINJI Genre of Chinese Zen and has great impact on Japanese Zen. As a result, The Blue Cliff Record is recognized as the NO.1 book of Zen.Nowadays researchers are realizing the specific thinking pattern, practice method and Satori of Zen, which have significantly contributed to the development of humanities area. Researchers worldwide are studying on multiple aspects of Zen and have already reached encouraging achievements. However, because of the special expression, technical words and classical accent in the ancient book, it becomes difficulties for readers. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to reorganize and emendate The Blue Cliff Record for the convenience of the readers to study the Zen texts.
