Abstract/Summary:
In recent years, the community concerns about postgraduates’ lower research capabilities, innovative a b i l i t i e s a n d d i f f i c u l t i e s i n e m p l o y m e n t. As a postgraduate with high-level personnel, whether through professional learning and training allowed them to have the ability and qualities needed to excellent record in your professional related work, is a major challenge faced by postgraduate. For a better understanding of the realities of the current postgraduates, in this study, by using the questionnaire in 505 graduate students from several colleges and universities in Hunan as research object to investigate the influencing factors about competence characteristics of the postgraduates and explore the competency and personality traits, time management disposition relations. Also to clarity effects and function of time management disposition between role competency characteristics and personality traits in postgraduates. This study aims to provide more empirical support in competence characteristics and related research of the postgraduates. Hoping postgraduates to be able to focus on self-guided competency characteristics. With postgraduates own characteristics, through appropriate management and use of time, in order to improve their quality and ability in all aspects.Conclusions of this study are as follows:(1) Time Management Disposition, personality and competencyas a whole is on the middle level in postgraduates. Inaddition to the not obvious differences in grade factors,but in gender, student leaders, professional and othervariables, postgraduate competency status aresignificantly different.(2) Postgraduates’ Time Management Disposition issignificantly related to personality traits. Addition toprogram and setting target dimension, the other factorsin tendency of Time Management Disposition presentssignificant correlation with personality traits factors.(3) Postgraduates’ Time Management Disposition has adirectly proportional to Competency characteristics. Thehigher value of Time Management Disposition, individualcompetency levels are also higher.(4) There are closely related between personality traits andcompetencies in postgraduates, mainly in introversion,neuroticism, and spiritual dimensions, which aresignificantly negatively correlated to competency.(5) Postgraduates’ Time Management Disposition, Personalitytraits, Competence are significantly correlated betweenthe three characteristics, meanwhile Personality traitsis not only a direct effect on the competency, but alsoa tendency to time management as an intermediary, anindirect effect on competency.
