As the deepening of communication among different cultures, the scenic spots both in Chinese Mainland and Taiwan have attracted more and more foreign visitors and tourism has become a flourishing industry of modern society. Some famous scenic spots in Taiwan are attracting a large amount of foreign visitors for its higher internationalization. Based on this, more and more scenic spots both in Chinese Mainland and in Taiwan provide tourism texts in English version to foreign visitors and local governments and local tourism departments are exerting more and more effort on the translation of tourism texts. Tourism text provides visitors basic information of scenic spots and plays an important role in publicity. Therefore, the translation quality of tourism texts is especially important. The purpose of tourism is to provide tourists the aesthetic experience, thus, an analysis towards tourism translation from the perspective of aesthetics is necessary and feasible.As the function of tourism texts is for publicity, translation should keep the beauty in image, rime and shape in the original texts as far as possible. That is to say, the English version of tourism texts should be in accordance with the aesthetic requirements of foreign visitors. By combining theory guidance with example analysis, this thesis makes a comparative analysis and research to some examples of tourism texts chosen from some scenic spots in both Chinese Mainland and Taiwan in the perspective of translation aesthetics. Starting from the basic rules and basic requirement of aesthetic representation, this thesis explains the aesthetic representation of beauties in image, rime and shape and also proposes strategies to improve the translation quality, such as imitation, rewriting and so on. Taking translation aesthetics as basis and regarding aesthetic representation as the highest principle, tourism translation could not only represent the aesthetic information appropriately but also achieve the purpose of carrying forward Chinese tradition culture.
