Based on the existing research, firstly, the paper collects Chinese "Zai" phrases’ errors from native speakers of English in three interlanguage Corpus, which is HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus from Beijing Language and Culture University, Character Error-tagged Chinese Interlanguage Corpus from Sun Yat-sen University and Students’Written English Corpus from Jinan University. Secondly, it classifies all the errors and analyzes each type of errors. Thirdly, in brder to explore the formation reasons of errors and relations between Chinese and English about language internal rules, the article compares Chinese "Zai" phrases with the equivalent expressions in English under the sight of typological linguistics and summarizes features of Chinese "Zai" phrases. The article points out that features of Chinese "Zai" phrases are the reasons for Chinese "Zai" phrases’ errors. Then, according to analysis of Chinese "Zai" phrases’errors and features of Chinese "Zai" phrases, the paper puts forward the teaching strategies. Finally, the paper concludes the contribution and the limitation of the whole research.The paper has five chapters.The first part is for introduction. The introduction is divided into three parts. The first part mainly explains the purpose and significance of topics; the second part is the summary part, this part of the paper reviews the previous studies phrase from Chinese essence researches to studies on Chinese "Zai" phrase errors in Chinese as a foreign language aspect, also introduces the research of Adposition from the perspective of typology and points out that some studies might go further; the third part is the research methods and data sources. This part describes the using methods of the whole article, and explains sources of interlanguage corpus and follows some explanations for the paper.The second part is the error analysis of Chinese "Zai" phrase. In the selection, the paper divides all the errors into groups according to the thematic relations with the preposition "Zai" and different Chinese levels of Chinese "Zai" phrase, and analyzes each type of the error. Then it shows the features of Chinese "Zai" phrases’errors on a form and points out that the final reasons which leads to the the errors of the internal language might be rules in languages own.The third part is about the study of features for Chinese "Zai" phrase.In order to explore the characteristics of Chinese "Zai" phrase on linguistic typology, the chapter compares Chinese "Zai" phrases with the equivalent expressions in English under the sight of typological linguistics from several different viewpoints, such as types of adposition, features of preposition’s orders, phrases’thematic types, phrases orders and so on and summarizes features of Chinese "Zai" phrases.The forth part is for teaching strategies of the Chinese "Zai" phrase. The chapter puts forward the teaching strategies for Chinese "Zai" phrase, according to the characteristics of different types of Chinese "Zai" phrases and errors of them.The fifth part is for conclusion. This chapter is divided into two parts, one is contribution, the other is limitation. This chapter sums up the contribution of the whole study, puts forward five aspects of the limitation and provides ideas for further research.
