As the interaction between China and the rest of the world is becomingincreasingly closer, domestic enterprises begin to explore global market with theirown advantages and carry out international cooperation and exchanges. Interpretationplays a crucial role in promoting multinational cooperation and exchanges amongenterprises.The author takes a Chinese text material of “The Opening Ceremony of YiliEuropean Research and Development Center”as the object to conduct this simulatedconsecutive interpreting practice, and sums up coping strategies forChinese-English(C-E) consecutive interpreting(CI) difficulties in the openingceremony of cooperative projects by means of analyzing this interpreting practice.This thesis consists of six parts. Introduction part presents writing purpose andstructures of the thesis. Chapter one describes task background, characteristics andrequirements. Chapter two introduces process of simulated CI including preparationstage, interpreting stage and feedback stage. Chapter three analyzes problems arisingin this task:(1) misinterpreting,(2) leaky interpreting,(3) back interpreting. And theauthor explores underlying causes, which are also difficulties in C-E CI:(1)incompleteness, improper layout and unclear logic relations of note-taking;(2)redundancy information containing repetitive utterances, additional utterances as wellas meaningless and unnecessary utterances;(3) heavy psychological pressure. Chapterfour elaborates coping strategies for the difficulties:(1) setting down key words forincompleteness of note-taking;(2) applying T-notes method for impropriety ofnote-taking layout;(3) using brief logic symbols for unclear logic relations ofnote-taking;(4) integrating method for repetitive utterances;(5) simplifying method for additional utterances;(6) omitting method for meaningless and unnecessaryutterances;(7) good preparation and more practicing experiences for psychologicalpressure. Conclusion part reviews the achievements and puts forward inspiration anddeficiencies based on the thesis.
