With the speeding up of Chinese pace towards the world, Teaching Chinese as aforeign language is flourishingly developing. In the past two years, Teaching Chinese asa foreign language is increasingly becoming a new and fashionable job that more andmore young people pursue. Therefore, knowing China and learning Chinese is alsobeing fashionable. However, as a developing major, Teaching Chinese as a foreignlanguage still faces many new challenges. Among them, compiling a series of normaland practical teaching textbooks is an topic to pay attention to. Throughout the basicsituation about the studies on Chinese textbooks in the advanced stage at home andabroad, there are many research achievements about teaching Chinese as a foreignlanguage. The studies on the nationalization, localization, pertinence and dramatizationof Chinese textbooks are gradually increasing. Actually, it is the study on the contents ofthe text of the teaching Chinese as a foreign language. However, from the perspectivesof the systematical functional outline and analysis of functional items, the studies onChinese textbooks in the advanced stage is not enough based on the comparison oftextbooks, which is also insufficient. On the basis of teaching of Chinese as a foreignlanguage in senior stage outline compiled by Zhao Jianhua, This thesis counts andanalyzes the functional terms in the New Concept English and Practical Chinese, andputs forward suggestions for compiling practical textbooks in the senior stage.The main contents are as follows:The first part is the definition and summary of the textbooks, advanced stage andfunctional items of teaching Chinese as foreign language teaching. The thesis conductsthe study on the textbooks according to the importance of teaching materials in teachingChinese as a foreign language, regarding the textbooks as the theoretical basis andregarding the "senior stage" and "Outline" as the premise. What’s more, the thesisanalyzes the related books, academic works, papers, and newspapers written by famousscholars, grasps the research achievements of compiling Chinese textbooks, investigatesthe status of functional methods and functional projects at home and abroad, andclarifies the relevant concepts and determines research methods.The second and third parts conclude the employed backgrounds functional the project in the New Concept Chinese (advanced textbook) and Practical Chinese (Senior), andthe relevant data sorting of functional projects in two sets of teaching textbooks in thetext based on Teaching of Chinese as a Foreign Language in Senior Stage Outlinecompiled by Zhao Jianhua and table forms counted so as to provide data support for thefollowing analysis.According to the statistical data of the second and the third parts, choosing thenumber of functional items from each lesson; the total amount and average of functionalitems of the selected two sets of teaching textbooks; more than two functional items inthe two sets of teaching textbooks; the same functional items of the two sets of teachingtextbooks and sorting of the same functional items in the textbooks. The thesissummarizes and analyzes the rationality and irrationality of the functional itemsarrangement in the New Concept Chinese (advanced textbook) and Practical Chinese(Senior), and demonstrates the practicability of textbooks based on the function. Thethesis intends to explore the practicability of textbooks of teaching Chinese as foreignlanguage from the perspectives of the employed backgrounds and the rationality ofarrangement, and provide suggestions for the compiling of senior stage textbooks,functional outline, and classroom teaching.The fifth part is a conclusion. This part summarizes the main contents andachievements of the whole thesis, points out the limitations of the thesis and space forfurther study. |
