Chinese character teaching is the key and difficult point in teaching Chinese as a foreign language,but its teaching quality and efficiency are still not optimistic.Chinese character teaching material is an important carrier of Chinese character teaching,which directly affects the teaching quality.Many scholars are also committed to exploring efficient and feasible writing mode of Chinese character teaching material,but they are limited to the horizontal research of primary Chinese character teaching material.In order to explore a more efficient and feasible mode of compiling Chinese character textbooks,this paper takes the independent Chinese character textbooks for foreign countries as the object,selects the primary Chinese character textbook "Chinese Character · Cognition" and the intermediate Chinese character textbook "Easy Learning of Chinese Character · Development" for horizontal and vertical research,and uses the method of comparative analysis to summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the two independent Chinese character textbooks for foreign countries.To absorb and adopt the advantages of independent teaching materials of Chinese characters for foreign students,explore new ideas and methods of writing independent teaching materials of Chinese characters for foreign students.Starting from a macroscopic perspective,this paper compares and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the two independent Chinese character textbooks,such as the compilation ideas,applicable objects,teaching objectives and teaching styles.It is found that "Chinese Characters · Cognition" focuses on fun,but lacks pertinence;"Easy Learning of Chinese Character · Development" focuses on pertinence and science,but not enough fun.Then,from the micro point of view,the scientific and rational analysis of the word selection and practice of the two textbooks.The comparative analysis of the second chapter mainly explores the distribution of the quantity and grade of the new words.The results show that the quantity and grade distribution of the new words in the two textbooks are in line with the norms,and the scientific nature of the selection of the new words in the textbooks is further verified.In the third chapter,the comparative analysis of exercises mainly studies the distribution and setting of the amount of questions and the type of questions.It is found that the amount of questions in "Chinese Characters · Cognition" is small,and the principle of elaborating and practicing more is not implemented,but the mode of exercises is innovated."Easy Learning of Chinese Character · Development" has a large number of questions and various forms of practice,but it cannot get rid of the traditional form of practice.Finally,based on the conclusion of comparative analysis,this paper puts forward three dimensions suggestions for the compilation of independent Chinese character textbooks for foreign students: enhancing the novelty of the overall teaching design,improving the scientific character selection of textbooks,and optimizing the practice design of textbooks.
