With the booming multinational economy, more and more projects require international cooperation. International engineering project involves multiple nationality participation, which means that the cultural diversity of the project team members. Employees with different cultural backgrounds have different customs, value orientation and language habits, etc. These cultural differences will lead to cultural conflicts in the process of project implementation, so that the team lacks of cohesion and the whole team will be at an impasse, resulting in increasing time and cost of implementation, which will lead to low project implementation efficiency or a failure. Overcoming the heterogeneous culture conflict, trying their best to make different cultures understand each other to achieve fusion, which helps to improve project management performance in cross-cultural environment has become a key for an international engineering project to a successful implementation.Based on the analyzing of characteristics of international engineering projects and the present situation of cross-cultural management for the current international engineering project, using Degussa project of MWP Company where the author works as an example, the paper elaborates the cross-cultural management problems in the project implementation. Starting from the formation mechanism of cross-cultural conflict, the cross-cultural conflict evaluation index system for the international engineering project is established and the cross-cultural conflict of Degussa project is evaluated by combination of evidence theory and entropy weight method, which reaches the conclusion that the conflict of Degussa project is strong and need draw a great attention of project managers. Finally, some advice is offered for the managers of Degussa project, which is engaged in three aspects from beforehand prevention, control and afterwards feedback about cross-culture management, hoping to be able to provide some reference for international project managers.
