The significance of picture book for children’s development is gradually affirmedby the society and families through its unique charm. This paper regards picturebooks as its research carrier,aiming to explain the significance of hierarchical creationfor children under the background of multiculturalism and multi-mediacommunication on the basis of understanding and deep analyzing psychologicalcharacteristics and aesthetic preference of children aged4-6. In order to talk about thepossibility of hierarchical creation, this paper firstly carries out analysis anddiscussion on the current situation and existing problems of picture bookmarket,pointing out that original Chinese picture books face adverse conditionscomparing to those excellent introduced books. What’s more, it shall come up withthe concept of hierarchical creation under the guidance of graded reading. In chapter3and chapter4, this paper will concretely analyze the creation elements based on theanalysis of the psychological characteristics and aesthetic preference of Children aged4-6with laboratory observation, survey method and case study. Furthermore, it strivesto provide theoretical basis for reference of picture books’ sustainable developmentwhile starting with the point of respecting children’s requirements.
