Decorative Study Of Klimt’s Painting

Dating back to the ancient times, people have already used graphics and drawing torecord life. With the evolvement of human beings and the change of the times, drawingfrom the original record tool evolution as an independent art form, and people’saesthetic sense and aesthetic needs also underwent changes under the influence of thesocial background. As one of the subjects of art(including artists and viewers), artistsare constantly updated with forms of painting, the creation of materials and the match ofcolor, which promote painting from one peak towards another.During the development process of the arts, there have been many significant turningpoints. Among them, the Art Nouveau movement is represented,which spread in thesecond half of the19th century to the early20th century, affected areas such as painting,clothing, architecture and whose style was sublimated in the decorative arts movement.The unique artistic style of the movement had great significance in the history of artisticdevelopment. During this period, the decorative feature draw widespread concern andalso formed the unique feature characterized by symbolic, geometric and liberalization.In this paper, the author contact own specialty, take the Klimt’s painting of this periodfor example, mainly study the performance of space composition when decorativefeature fuses with easel painting and the use of decorative elements.Firstly, the paper elaborates the research overview of the topic, then summariesbackground of alternating centuries, analyzes the characteristics of the painting ofKlimt’s time, the effect and inspiration generated by decorative feature from aspectssuch as the space composition, color vision, and materials. Finally, through the aboveanalysis, the author sums up own understanding of decorative method and combineswith own work.
