Learning transfer refers to the impact on new learning arising from acquiredknowledge, motor skills, attitudes and so on. Learning migration is a commonphenomenon in the process of study. Many educators, psychologists have found thatevery form of study always produces migration. Migration plays an important role inlearning English. So,“Teaching for Transfer†has become the consensus of manyeducators.Vocational education is an important part of higher education. Its training goal iscultivating the talents which meet the society. And vocational English course is one ofcommon require course in the vocational college. The reason of opening this courseby college is to develop students English thinking skills and English practical ability.So, teaches should adopt appropriate teaching methods to improve their transferabilities. Vocational English teacher should pay much attention to develop thestudents transfer ability. They should treat this problem as an important issue.Based on the theory of learning transfer, the thesis analyses the factors thatEnglish learning transfer from the subject and object factors. I investigate the Englishlearning migration of three vocational schools in Shijiazhuang. I surveyed fromattitudes to learn English, convective structure and transfer consciousness. Based theanalysis of investigation results, the author puts forward some strategies such aspromoting feeling transfer, constructing a good English knowledgestructure,cultivating the transfer consciousness and so on.This main parts are as follows:Part1. Some thoughts on English teaching under the guidance of the transfertheory. Analyzing the characteristics of vocational English subject, vocationalstudents characteristics and the factors of affecting transfer of learning from subjectfactors and objective factors.Part2. Investigating and analyzing the situation of students transfer by thequestionnaire which investigates from students’feelings about Englishã€and cognitive structure situations and students’transfer awareness. By investigating, we have drawnthree conclusions. The first conclusion is the students’ language learning interestsneed to be improved; the second conclusion is students’ cognitive is not good; andthe third conclusion is the students are lack of study migration awareness.Part3. Proposing the third methods of develop vocational students’ Englishtransfer ability. The first is cultivating students’ feelings to English study; the secondis constructing good cognitive structure; the third is improving students’ learningmigration awareness. |
