Fuzzy language is a linguist concept, compared with accurate language, it hasbroad space for understanding. Fuzzy language is used in general communication,writing, and so on. Though there are differences in linguistic realizations in bothChinese and English fuzzy languages, they play a very important part in respectiveareas. Fuzzy language,which is a branch of Linguistics, has attracted more attentionand obtained some achievements on research.Negative News is noted for its sensibility, according to our understanding,usually often it presented in a formal written language. Language in Negative Newsshould keep objective, no matter in expression style、language accuracy and point ofview. As a matter of fact, fuzzy language often appears in spite of contradictorycharacteristics, sometimes it is intentional, and it seems to challenge our stereotypedimage of news report.In fact, Fuzzy language is a kind of strategy to relax unyielding attitude orexpression. It can be used in different kinds of situation and writings for practicalpurposes. If we use Fuzzy language properly in Negative News,we can express themain idea more exact. All the time, the Understanding of Negative News is influencedby their own selection criteria、universal ethical principle orientation and culturaltradition,but both China and the West, they apply Fuzzy language to Negative News.This paper makes a comprehensive discussion on the basis of previous studies,byway of the study of basic theory of Fuzzy language and Negative News,picking someNegative News samples in both Chinese and English newspaper, hoping that thispaper can make still further progress in relevant research.
