| The rapid development of the Internet has brought about an unprecedented opportunity for the spread and communication of cultures of different origins. As an emerging form of high-quality education, open classes offered at top universities are welcomed by increasingly large audiences, providing more multi-diversified platforms for academic researches as well as exchanges among different cultures, which to a large extent, has promoted the development of language as well.This paper cites the English to Chinese consecutive interpretation of Positive Psychology(Lecture One) from Harvard University as a case, analyses the importance of context and gives solutions based on different types of contextual clues. The lecturer gives a brief introduction to positive psychology, using a large number of context-based examples and technical terms. This paper gives analyses to the typical examples based on the general classification of context, i.e. verbal context and non-verbal context and the subclassification by Malinowski for the latter into context of situation and context of culture, and attempts to apply different translation methods, such as domestication, foreignization, amplification and so on to corresponding scenarios, hoping to improve the interpretation effect and achieve the goal of successful communication. |
