Since China start promote Chinese language actively, more and more foreigners flock to China, they learn Chinese, hope to understand Chinese culture. In the actual teaching process, we find teaching Chinese characters become the "bottleneck", especially for the primary level of Chinese students from Europe and America.In this paper, expanded research on visual cognition of Chinese characters, divided into four chapters to discuss teaching. First, previous research results for the teaching of Chinese characters discussed assessment, previous characters clear direction and methods of teaching and research。Secondly, use the "International Curriculum for Chinese language teaching" according to Hanban issue and the "Chinese International Education with syllabic Chinese vocabulary grading".The two authoritative books for elementary learners of Chinese characters sort.According to a survey carried out analysis of real data and information obtained. Then, the principle characters and visual thinking, combined with the corresponding characters make teaching thinking and illustrated. These include schema theory, visual linguistics, psychology, aesthetic intuition. The three major aspects discussed below also contains a number of small points. Finally, show two different teaching environments: classroom teaching and outdoor teaching.I presented a theoretical basis and practical operation planning. This is consistent with a view to the psychological needs of students, but also has a strong operational model to the development of teaching foreign characters.
