An Exploratory Study On Wu Jun Who Is A Taoist Priest In Tang Dynasty

Taoism is the indigenous religion of China which has a profound impact on Chinese culture.Tang dynasty is the peak of the development of Taoism.As the famous Taoist of Tang dynasty, Wu Jun is the key character in the conversion from Wai-Dan toNei-Dan.Even there is so much study on his life and thoughts now,it’s still necessary to study in a deep-going way.This paper divided into four parts which research from the background,his life,his literature,his thoughts and methods about how to be a immortal and also his influence on posterity.The Introduction of Mao Shanzong development at its peak in the Tang dynasty. Wu Jun as a famous Taoist scholar of Mao Shanzong,and make the review and summary for the research of him.Introduces the reason of selecting the topic and the problem to solve on this paper.The first chapter making a comprehensive overview of the background and the development of Taoism in that time,making a comprehensive analysis on the reasons for the prosperity Taoism and the performance of its prosperity which has a profound influence.The second chapter study Wu Jun’ Taoist thought comprehensive,include his viewpoint about the universe or called Taoist idea,his standpoint on humanity and how to be a immortal.Wu Jun inherit Lao Tzu’ thoughts on Dao to explain Taoist ontology,and showed up the Taoist theory that tao bears the world,in his standpoint about humanity,Wu Jun put forward that there three grades in human nature,in his view about how to be a immortal,Wu Jun thought that human can practice to be a immortal.The third chapter study the feature about Wu Jun’ thoughts.At last,probe the influence of Wu Jun’ thoughts,especially on the development of Taoism.
