With the increasing number of chinese emigrants, Chinese culture and Chinese literature spread to Indonesia. Initially Chinese literature spread in Indonesia as oral literature, and then gradually developed into a large number of publication of Chinese classical literature and Chinese martial arts, which is translated by low-Malay. It won the prosperity development and make a great contribution to the development of Indonesian literature in the mid-20 th century. After taking office President Suharto, he made some policy to limit the Indonesian-chinese’s anction and the development of Chinese culture. During 1965-1998, in addition to martial arts novle, the others Chinese literature has almost stopped to be translated and spreaded. After 1998, with the president of Indonesian has been replaced, the translation of Chinese literary works has been reverted. Now in Indonesia, Chinese literature is divided into classical literature, modern literature and martial arts. The development of Internet has played a positive role to the translation of literary. However, due to the long-term fault of Chinese culture in Indonesia, resulted today’s translations and spread of Chinese literature in Indonesia still faces some serious challenges.
