Culture is an important characteristic and identification of a nation, and Chinese language education is an important way for the survival and development of the overseas Chinese culture. Indonesia is the world’s most populous country also has Tionghoa (ethnic Chinese people living in Indonesia), Indonesian Chinese with the Chinese culture still maintained a deep feelings, so they found Chinese education in the local, to inherit the national culture unremitting endeavor.Throughout the history of the development of Chinese education in Indonesia, the Indonesian Chinese schools journeyed through rough and miry ways particularly at the time of the Indonesia Sinophobic actions, during which the Indonesian Chinese Schools sustained many attacks. Today, with the restoration and development of Chinese education in Indonesia, many previously closed down Chinese schools have begun to operate, gradually taking steps forward not clinging on to the past.In order to explore the impacts and effects the Indonesian Sinophobic action has brought upon the Indonesian Chinese schools, This research has taken Pa Hoa School and Long Hoa School as it focus of analysis, with the hope that through this paper, readers can understand the history of Chinese education in Indonesia and also pay attention to its prospects.
