It helps us better understand the social issues.The thesis is on the basis of the 17 news releases written by Tom Brady on the New York Times International Weekly. They cover technology, employment, drug, nutrition, education and so on. The report is divided into five chapters. Chapter one is a brief introduction to the report. Chapter two simply describes the translation task, mainly the introduction and analysis of it. Chapter three is the process of translation, including the preparation before translation, the choice of translation skills and the schedule of the translation task. Chapter four is the case study. It mainly analyzes the methods of headline translation, words translation,translation of long sentences and short sentences, as well as the methods of dealing with punctuation. The last chapter is the summary of the report. By the summary of the problems and the solutions in the translation practice, it makes me deepen the understanding of translation practice and promotes my study and translation work in the future.
