Teenagers are in a period that their body and mind develop rapidly. They ofen appear timid, withdrawn for caring about theirselves and others’s evaluation. That will lead to poor adaptation and low efficiency, and finaly debase their subjective well-being(SWB). We should pay enough attention for it’s research. The current research are mostly for children, and lack of the support of teenagers’experience that copying with shyness, and are not appropriate for teenagers’reference. Thus, we aimed at exploring the present situation and relationship among teenagers’shyness, coping style and SWB. It would perfect the theory for clinical interventional research, provide reference for teenagers, and improve their adaption and mental health. This study consists of two parts. The first study is quantitative research, we respectively selected 300 teenagers from the junior middle school, high school and the college from the northeast area to test by using the Shyness Scale, Coping Style Scale, and Campbell Index of Well-being Scale. The second part is interview research. We made a self-designed semi structural interview outline, conducted a in-depth interview among 6 college students who were shy to explore the development and relationship among their shyness, copying style, and SWB based on grounded theory. The quantitative research found that:(1) The older group’s shyness and mature coping style is significantly higher, immature coping style is significantly lower than the younger.(2) Shyness plays a negative role in predicting SWB, the older group’s effect become smaller. (3) Shyness plays a negative role in predicting mature coping style, and a positive role for immature coping style. (4) Mature coping style plays a positive, and immature coping style plays a positive role in predicting SWB. (5) Mature and immature coping style both play a mediating role between the shyness and SWB, and the effect are defferent among three groups. The interview research found that:(1) The shyness’inner feeling are stronger in its occation and performance, and the coping style becomes more mature in its cognition and behabior with growth. (2) The shyness influences the SWB by the coping style in two dimensions which are cognition and behavior. We came to these conclusions:The shyness’inner feeling become stronger and its coping style become more mature with growth. The coping style plays a mediating role between the shyness and SWB. The shyness influences the SWB by the coping style in two dimensions which are cognition and behavior. Learning to understand shyness and coping correctly will debase the negative influence of shyness.
