The overseas Chinese teaching materials for junior high school and for primary schoolaim at the different age of students who have different ways of thinking and mentality.Sowhen compiling a serial of overseas Chinese textbooks,just like the primary edition and thejunior high school edition,we should not only pay more attention to the characteristics of thestudents who are in different ages,but also consider more about the cohesion of the serial oftextbooks,especially the cohesion in language knowledge and linguistic skill.This dissertation studies the cohesion of vocabulary of two sets about overseas Chineseteaching materials including primary edition and junior high school edition.The two sets areZhongwen and Hanyu.The dissertation is based on a large amount of statistical data andliteratures,mainly from the quantity,distribution and ranks distribution to analysis thecohesion of characters and vocabulary of the whole set of text books.At last make acomparative study about the cohesion of the two sets,Zhongwen and Hanyu.By studyingtheir similarities and differences,evaluate the cohesion of the two sets based on analysis oftheir merits and dis-merits.According to the final analytic result,offer reasonable proposalsfor the vocabulary written about the overseas Chinese teaching materials,aiming in thedisadvantages of the cohesion of the vocabulary in the textbooks.
