A Study On The Cohesive Mechanism Of Lyric Discourse

The lyrics as the indispensable part of song, should be studied by us and this is indispensable too; At the same time, the lyrics as a kind of special linguistics form, should be studied by the linguistics and this kind of study is very important and very pressing.This text chooses the “lyrics” as the perspective, and takes notion on the context cohesion of song lyrics. Also, we use the ways of observing, count and giving examples to observe and analyse a kind of relative closed corpus. It means we put the one hundred pieces of lyrics of Chinese songs by Linxi as main language data. At the same time, we put the predecessors’ study as the foundation, and we have a try on inspecting the lyrics language context cohesion phenomenon, then we come to a conclusion from these facts and at last we unfold it in the way of giving examples to display the song characteristic of lyrics language. We mainly study the pronunciation context, vocabulary context, morphology context of the lyrics context,and we also study the “not self-sufficient” via studying the macrostructure. The pronunciation context refers to the sound-type of replication, the same rhyme of replication and the density and the resounding degree of the thyme and the feelings that the lyricist considers. The vocabulary context refers to the vocabulary collocation and the vocabulary replication which response contemplation process relationship. The morphology context refers to the same structure, the coordination and the abbrebiation. The macrostucture refers to one section of body, two sections of body, three sections of body and many sections of body and we found the macrostructure will obey the melody arrangement in the control of the music and so we found the “not self-sufficient” of lyrics context.We conclude these language phenomenons we found, and we present them in evidences to present our discovery results. We do it just for offer some supplement for lyrics study in linguistics and take effort to enrich the linguistics theory about lyrics. We also hope we could offer some lyricists some assistance in the creating the context cohesion, especially in the pronunciation, vocabulary,morphology and macrostructure.
