With Chinese getting popular, the number of Chinese learners hasrapidly increased, so as the number of foreign universities that want tocooperate with local universities in China to host short-term Chineselearning program. Since international Chinese teachers are in greatdemand currently, enlarging the group of international Chinese teachersand improving their ability has become an important issue.Chinese teacher’s cultivation and training is an important way toprovide Chinese teachers. This thesis focuses on short-term internationalChinese teachers training program. By studying the teacher assistanttraining for “Columbia in Shanghai”(an intensive Chinese trainingprogram) and the part-time job teacher training for the school ofinternational education in SJTU can come up with a reference for thetraining of international Chinese teachers.This paper consists of six chapters:Chapter one starts from the purpose, content, meaning and methodof this thesis. Chapter two introduces the general situation of relatedstudy in this field. Chapter three is to establish the intensive trainingprogram of “Columbia in Shanghai”. Chapter four focuses on the teacherassistant training by introducing the details and features. Chapter five isthe comparison between two kinds of teacher training. One is for the“Columbia in Shanghai” program and the other one is for the school ofinternational education in SJTU. Chapter six is the summary to guide thenewcomer teacher training practice.
