A Comparative Study Of Chinese And Vietnamese Common Saying

Common saying is a special type of folk literature in the countries ofthe world. It stems from the folk society, spreads in the folk, and survivesin the folk. Common saying is the vulgar and visual sentences whichpopular among the people. It’s also the acknowledgement about theobjective world, the nature, and the social of the human. Created bypeople, the structure of common saying is determinate and concise. Aswe all know, China and Vietnam have close exchange andcommunication in economics, culture as well as in language for a longtime. That can be proved via the existence of the sino-vietnamese soundin the Vietnamese common saying. Comparing with the common sayingbetween the China and Vietnam, especially analyzing some typical imageamong those two different cultures, we not only can find the similaritiesand differences in grammar structure and semantics content, but also canmake a contribution to the Vietnamese common saying study andeducation. By statistical method, analytical method, inductive method andcomparison method, we can achieve the comparison study. The syntaxstructure in common saying between the China and Vietnam hasremarkable national features, however, it is those differences that producean inhibition on common saying education and set a trap for the study atthe same time.This thesis is composed of six parts. The first part introduces thereason of choosing this thesis, the research content and range, the aim ofthe research and its significance, as well as the method and the currentsituation of the research. The second part briefly introduces some viewsabout some academics from China and Vietnam who give the definition,range and specialty to the common saying. Hence the conception ofcommon saying has not been exactly defined yet, for a successfulresearch during this period, the common saying is defined on this thesistemporarily, which is the common saying is a special type of folkliterature in the countries of the world. It stems from the folk society, spreads in the folk, and survives in the folk. While the common saying isa kind of vulgar and visual sentences which popular among the people.It’s also the acknowledgement about the objective world, the nature andthe social of the human. Created by people, its structure is determinateand concise. The third part shows some similarities and differences aboutthe syntax structure in Chinese and Vietnamese common saying. Besides,some special structure such as parallel construction and system structurealso referred in this part. The forth part analyzes the different culturebetween the two counties by comparing the images in common saying.That means when express the same content while use the different image,or express the same image while use the different semantic. Otherwise,some easy-understand common saying is mentioned. The fifth part showssome problem in Chinese and Vietnamese common saying education andsome suggestion for better education. The sixth part is the conclusion ofthis thesis, including some creativity, shortage and expectation.
