A Report On The Translation Of Education At A Glance2013(Chapter A)

This is a practical translation report. The material is taken from OECD website, entitledEducation at a Glance2013, which is a survey and published by OECD in June2013, thewords more than254,540. The translator translates Chapter A. This material wasrecommended by translator’s classmate who studies in Shanghai University, and also itinvited another classmate who studies in South China University of Technology, then threeyoung people work together to accomplish the whole translating. The survey mainly analyzesand summarizes the latest education situation across all country. Based on this survey, peoplecan have a macro understanding of education in every country, and it also provides referencefor related educational researching.This report consists of four parts. Part one is an introduction to translation task, includingthe original material and OECD. Part two is the translating process, including the preparationbefore translating, equivalence theory and the proofreading after translating. Part three briefintroduces some methods used in the translation with examples. Part four is the translationsummary.
