The Proposition And Practices Of Lang Qichao’s"New Literary Style"

In the Chinese modern politics,Liang is a famous ideologist and a statesman,simultaneously,in the Chinese modern literary world,he is a litterateur of freethinkingand innovation consciousness. During the period of the national crisis, in order toadvocate Reformation Movement, as a representative of Chinese advancedintellectuals, he raised the proposition of the "New literary style ". The proportionwas initially aimed at prose creation, as a result,the traditional prose transformed intoa truly new literary style.Then its language characteristics of the "New literary style"were applied to many other literary style,such as novel,poetry,drama and so on.The "New literary style" was influenced by the "The newspaper style" andJapanese style, at the same time,it draw lots of useful components on traditional prose.With its novel style,rich contents,and a distinct political tendency,the "New literarystyle" literary works generally showed many characteristics, like rich in passion,well-organized,rigorous logic and so on. Especially the characteristics of thelanguage was most noticeable, it is not only easy to understand, but also rich inliterary grace.This article covers the following four chapters:The first chapter explains the paper’s research significance, the research actualityof home and abroad and he research methods.From the beginning of the second chapter, enter into the main body of this article,that is the part of my fundamental research,which includes two aspects:one aims toexpound the connotation of the "New literary style",the other one aims to explain thereason of the "New literary style",such as historical reasons,political reasons,culturalreasons and Liang’s Personal reasons.In the third chapter, I will take the "language characters " for the the point ofpenetration to discuss the practices of the "New literary style", simultaneously, I willalso expound its huge influence on some other writer of his day and the latter writersince the may4th movement in1919.Finally, in the last chapter,I will summarize the historical significance and value of the "New literary style",at the same time,I will also illustrate its main defects andshortcomings.
