| Adverbs have always been the focus of research of linguists, and modal adverbs are the special ones. Tones convey the perspective and attitude of speakers to one action or one thing. Modal adverbs are used to express subjective comments and opinions.Both Chinese and Korean have modal adverbs. Based on a number of corpus investigations, this paper makes an analysis on commonalities and individualities of syntax, semantic, pragmatics and other aspects with the "Dayue,Yue,Yuemo, Dagai" from Chinese and "(?)(?),(?),(?)(?),(?)(?)" from Korean as the objects of the study, so as to providesupports to second language acquisition and Chinese-to-Korean(Korean-to-Chinese) two-way translation.This paper is composed of four chapters. The specific contents are as follows.In the first chapter of introduction, it mainly summarizes the research purpose and significance, and confirms the research object. Then the research status of modal adverbs and modal adverbs expressing the meaning of approximation in both Chinese and Korean is summarized.The second chapter makes a semantic comparison between the modal adverbs expressing the meaning of approximation from Chinese and the ones from Korean. First, according to the definitions in the dictionary and corpus analysis, the differences and similarities of the semantic features of the two kind of modal adverbs are found. Second, the paper finds out that the corresponding relationship between them, which mainly refers to"Dayue,Yue,Yuemo, Dagai" from Chinese and their corresponding forms in Korean "(?)(?),(?),(?)(?),(?)(?)"The third chapter makes a syntax comparison between the modal adverbs expressing the meaning of approximation from Chinese and the ones from Korean. First, from the perspective of distribution, the paper studies the differences and similarities of the position that the modal adverbs take in a sentence such as the beginning, middle and the end of a sentence both in Chinese and Korean. Second, the paper studies the differences and similarities of collocations between the modal adverbs and quantifiers, auxiliary verbs, modal adverbs, and the in both language.The fourth chapter is pragmatic part, which mainly studies the differences and similarities of using frequency, Sentence distribution and Style color of modal adverbs.The last part is the conclusion, which summarizes the main contents of this paper, and put forward the deficiencies of this paper. |
