The translation project report involves three different source texts: Mennonites inChina--Chapter five and Chapter six, BAMBOO LEAVES--The Second Year, andSeeking Peace-My Journey--China:Educational Exchanges,1980+. The first sourcetext narrates the Mennonite activities in Fujian and Inner Mongolia before1949. Thesecond text is a journal made by a Mennonite teacher who came to Sichuan provinceafter1949and taught English in a college. The last text narrates the educationalexchanges between Mennonites and China since1980.The report consists of four chapters. Chapter One is an introduction of translationproject--project content, objectives and significance. Chapter Two gives an account ofthe translation process, including preparation, translation process and difficulties.Chapter Three focuses on case analysis, including functional shift, attributive clausetranslation, nonfinite verbs translation. Chapter Four is a conclusion that includesproject appraisal and summary. Chapter Three is the main part of the report. Integratingwith theories, the author analyzes some translated sentences and further selects theproper strategies for the purpose of bringing English into Chinese. The translationproject and report writing has updated the author’s translation ability and theoreticalacknowledge.
