Conducting means not only a proper understanding of music, but also an accurate expression of the content. A conductor’s movement, which can always be decomposed to the forms of points and lines, finally fulfills the conducting. It is easy to manage the basic technique, however, we can see diverse changes through different combinations of fixed points and fixed lines. So, this paper mainly studies the points and lines used in conducting through the case Beethoven Symphony No.6. It’s been explicated from four aspects, including velocity, strength, tempo and construction. Upon the explication, here goes the acoustic analysis of different performance of three different conductors, Karajan, Bernstein, Abbado, and then comparative analysis and elaboration of the three different styles of conducting helps to further study the transforming of the combinations of points and lines in actual conducting, and lastly the value of such study for all practice, theory and teaching is highly developed.
